This is strange...

Unless this is your first post or you don't know me, you should know that I recently graduated and right now I am only working two days a week.

I am lucky to have a fantastic internship that I can't speak highly enough of. However, this is the most free time I have ever had. (Well at least in a very long time).

Pretty much as soon as I was old enough, I started working. I babysat for a few summers before running through a large number of diverse part time jobs in high school and college. I often worked more than one job at a time, and juggled jobs with classes and sports. Sometimes it was a lot to handle, but it was always worth the hassle. I was saving money for the iPod or phone I wanted at the time, and ultimately college. I had to borrow money to get my degree, but the blow was softened by the money I earned over many summers.

I have worked as a grocery clerk, an airport secretary, a golf clubhouse attendant, a technology assistant, a shop assistant for a strawberry farm, a corn detassler, an administrative assistant and more. I have also worked a number of internships and jobs within the realm of graphic design, animation, and film.

I enjoyed almost all the jobs, and met some really great people I wouldn't have otherwise. However, they also took a huge amount of my time. Along with school and homework, sports, family obligations, and a small social life, I didn't have much free time. Now that I do have free time, it is almost difficult to know how to fill it.

This blog is part of my solution, among other goals and plans discussed in previous posts. It is strange for me to have to fill my time with other diversions. I will be spending a good amount of time applying for jobs, but I have to create a schedule for myself. I should also develop a hobby. Any ideas?

Maybe I will take up trivia, or start writing crosswords. I could also do something less cerebral... I could conduct a super scientific 'experiment' on the optimal nap length after eating a pint of ice cream. It would be a real strain on my new diet and exercise plan, but it would be worth it in the name of science! Maybe I will dress up like a superhero and help lost tourists before gliding off on my roller blades.

I clearly need to think about this more.
