Things are happening...

Quick life update for you in list form:

1. Tomorrow I leave the city on a Megabus to spend a long weekend with my family in Iowa. I am really excited about this for a few reasons, first of all, I haven't seen my family in a few months and I miss them. Second, I get to see my sister off on her first trip outside the US! She is heading to Rome for a trip to the Vatican and other neat sites. Third, my brother is graduating high school and giving a speech at his grad ceremony. Fourth, not having to wash dishes by hand for a few days with the added bonus of free laundry. Fifth, I am going to sleep so well in my quiet dark room with my favorite bed. So, yeah. I am pretty stoked about going home this weekend.
2. I got a summer internship. I am thrilled to accept a position this summer with Prodigious Worldwide. It seems like a great opportunity, and my next step in growing into a professional animator/motion designer. I am excited to meet more people and expand my skills within a new company. I have been so blessed with fantastic opportunities up to this point, and I am hoping to continue the momentum going forward.
3. Because of the exciting opportunity to work with Prodigious, I am staying in Chicago. One of my big stressers lately has been uncertainty about the future, so I am excited to start making plans for the year ahead. I can also start searching for apartments to rent beginning in August. The apartment hunt is sure to be an adventure, so I will probably write a blog post on it at some point.
4. I need a haircut. This is not really an important life update, but it's one of the truths of my life today.
5. I am starting to make some plans for Memorial Day weekend, so if you have any ideas for fun things to do around the Chicago area on a long weekend let me know! I'm thinking picnic on the beach with a few friends, and/or a bonfire at Promontory Point. if I can get it all arranged, a trip to the Indiana Dunes or Southeastern Wisconsin might be in order. Plus, that weekend is one of my roommates' birthday, so we will be celebrating that at some point.
